Pixar


 About Pixar:
·      Bass it around their own thought when younger
·      Billy Crystal turned down Toy Story, saw the success of it then decided to accept the part in Monsters Inc
·      Movie doesn’t come to life unless you visualize it
·      Long process, takes around 2 years to make
·      California institute of the arts was started by Walt Disney
·      Animation program was made in A113, placed it in most films as a good luck charm
·      John Lasseter watched the film Tron in 1982, this inspired his imagination
·      John Lasseter made the idea of computer animation in Pixar
·      Steve Jobs bought Pixar in 1986, he made apple
·      Luxo Junior was made originally as a short movie but Pixar changed it to be pixars logo


Toy story:
·      Catch phrase ‘to infinity and beyond’
·      Made Woodys character dislike Buzz Light-year because of jealousy
·      If the making of the movie was fun, its going to be on screen
·      The first animation test was in1992

Bugs Life:
·      Had a tiny camera put in grass to see from a ants prospective
·      Research a lot about ants to make the movie
·      Difficult film to make but once complete they were certain they can produce any film
·      ‘Ant March: Director, John Lassetter (1998)
·      No individual ants have there own thoughts

Up:
·      Made in 2009
·      Real life balloons would lift a with 25 million but in an animation they used 20,000
·      Unusual idea, never shy away

Monsters Inc:
·      Made in 2001
·      Mike and Sulley: director of characters, Pete Doctor
Film mainly based around Mike and Sulley’s relationship
·      Film the voice overs to create the character

Nemo:
·      Made in 2003
·      Marlin Loses Nemo: Director, Andrew Stanton.
·      Scene of Marlin losing Nemo based around the director of the scene about being protective over his child. He used this story because he thought it is a universal situation.
·      Work on the scene a lot

The Incredibles:
·      Made in 2004
·      Display their powers; director, Brad Bird
·      Power matches the character
·      Producer, John Walker

Toy Story 3:
·      Made in 2010
·      Ken meets Barbie; director, Lee Unkrich

The voice:
·      Pixar has the same voice overs in more than one film
·      The voice overs are made before the animation
·      The voice overs are films whilst practicing
